Ashwagandha

Updated: Dec 22, 2018

Found in India, Ashwagandha is considered the ginseng of Indian Medicine. It can also referred to as the Queen of Ayurveda. (That's another post for another time).

My experience with this herb has been fairly recent, but the information I've learned from it makes me want to continue taking it for all of its amazing benefits. I recently started using this herb to help with my current struggle with stress and anxiety. And with most things, you have to give it time for your body to adapt to it.

I felt stressed, but I didn't know at the time that it was benefiting my muscles from gym workouts! So, now I'm pumped (no pun intended) to grab more and see if the other benefits help me in my journey!

Below are 10 of the many benefits of Ashwagandha.

Reduces Stress/ Anxiety

Increases Energy and Stamina

Combats Common Gut Diseases

Boosts Testosterone In Men

Enhances Muscle Mass

Improves Brain Function

Fights Infection

Relieves Menopausal Symptoms

Protects the Kidneys

Anti-Diabetic

With anything, always contact your doctor or health partitioner before investing in medicinal herbs. I'm slowly transitioning my life to be more holistic with medicine. I find that herbal remedies take more time to get into your system the first time, but after that you body begins to respond better and helps to prevent any future flare ups.

In the past, I've used the capsule form of this herb. However, it also comes in a powder that you can mix with a smoothie or food, and the raw root form itself, if you're wanting to create a tea or cleanse!

If you've used it or currently use it, let me know how it's aiding you!
